The location for the 2016 National Science Fiction Convention is the CQ hotel on Cuba Street (223 Cuba Street) in Wellington. Along with being in the centre of the CBD, there are also several food and accommodation options in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel offers two classes of rooms, the Comfort side of the hotel, where rooms are $125/night, and the Quality side of the hotel, where the rooms are $197/night. We have reserved some of each for Au Contraire members.
You can book rooms by calling the hotel on 0800 643 131, or email firstname.lastname@example.org and asking for a room for Au Contraire. Please note that the hotel charges a fee for credit card payments and requires a $50 bond for cash payments.
All hotel rooms include wireless internet.
The hotel includes a restaurant that is open from 7am to 11am on Saturday and Sunday; and 6.30am to 9.30am on Monday for breakfast, as well as 6pm to 9.30pm for dinners.
Their café is open form 7am to 4.30pm every day.
There is also a bar that is open from 4pm til late every day.
The hotel is located on Cuba Street between Vivian and Abel Smith Streets. Both the Comfort Hotel and Quality Hotel entrances lead to the same reception area, so it doesn't matter which you use.
